Annie Pool is a Des Moines based watercolor and pastel artist, specializing in home and pet portraits. She is currently a senior at Drake University and is doubling majoring in painting and piano. For the past seven years she has worked as both a private art instructor, as well as a music instructor. After graduation, she hopes to build her business and pursue a full time career in freelance illustration while continuing to teach and take commissions.

As a Beaverdale resident, Annie is often inspired by the nature and history around her. She is drawn to the architecture of old homes, and enjoys capturing their history in her work. While going on walks at Greenwood Park or wandering downtown Des Moines, she likes to sketch the sights around her and use it as inspiration for whimsical illustrations.
